From the outside, a normal bread shop |
Right in the middle of Hurstville CBD is one of my all time favorite Banh Mi shops - Kings Bread Shop. From the outside this looks like your typical bread shop, but once you enter you are faced with a counter with usually 4 or 5 staff busily stuffing veggies into rolls and a giant board with over 30 variations of Banh Mi.

So many choices! So little stomach space! |
If you decide to visit for lunch on a weekend, prepare to wait! There is always a giant queue snaking down the road, but it moves quickly. If you know what you want you can call ahead to order and skip the line to pick up!

The queue at 12pm on a Saturday |
have tried at least half of the variations here, but my absolute favorite is the BBQ Chicken ($5) - it isn't actually what I would consider to be a BBQ chicken, but is actually tiny pieces of char sui chicken which they generously stuff into the roll. So very delicious!

All the prices are very cheap, ranging from $4 for a salad roll to $7 for a salmon roll. It's one of the few places me and my husband can grab a meal for a total of $10 together.
